Halifax > Leeds > Manchester > Lancashire

Today we woke up in a dirty, sweaty Travelodge in the center of Manchester. We had a surreal evening last night. We were due to do a radio interview before our gig at the Night & Day venue and ended up in a ghetto suburb of Manchester carrying all our equipment through the streets looking for the station. After a 20 minute brick shitting parade of our music equipment through a council estate we decided to retreat back to the red bullet and by the time we found the station there was only time for a ‘hello, thanks for playing our record, goodbye’ before we had to leave to get to the venue for sound check. After playing a good set at the Night & Day Cafe we went back to the Travelodge late night bar where we were offered free Pizza for the second night in a row by random strangers. Both times we accepted but woke up this morning agreeing to turn down any further offers of free pizza today, on the grounds that a third consecutive night would just be too freaky.

We’ve had a really busy day so far today. Found a brilliant little hidden gem of a Cafe in the Northern Quarter of Manchester called Pop where we had breakfast. It’s downstairs from a retro fashion boutique and is sort of half shop, have cafe. Definitely will go back.

We then drove to Halifax where we did a radio session on a community station called Phoenix. They were a friendly bunch who seemed to very much appreciate having us on the show. (They told us afterwards they’d been expecting a crap indie band but were blown away when we played).

Then headed to Leeds for a gig at an arty venue called Seven which is where we are now awaiting some grub.

After this gig we’ve got a very quick load out as we’ve got to race to Manchester for a session and interview on BBC Radio Manchester at 12.30am. Then after that we’ve got a further hours drive to get to our beds which are at tomorrow nights venue ‘The Royal Hotel’ in Lancashire. Full on day!
